Bael Patra or Bilva Patra
There is mention of Bael Patra in such ancient scriptures as Atharvaved, Aitereya Bramhana and Shatpath Bramhana. It is a sacred sacred tree having sacrificial importance. The leaves of this sacred tree is generally trifoliate. Trifoliate leaf or tripatra of the Bael tree is believed to symbolize the three functions of the Almighty – The Creation ,Preservation and Destruction.
